Desire............Icchha..................Aasha.................Aasey............
Many synonyms...........but the wish remains the same.
They say that- Har insaan ke andar ek bachha hota hai. True.......None can deny this. And the child’s heart has desires. It is the birth right of every child’s heart to dream. The tiny little innocent heart never calculates and analyzes the facts before building the nest of dreams. It dreams- because it wants to. All it aspires for is- small moments of happiness. Small ones; not big big dreams. It does not worry about whether the dream will come true or not. Unaware of the future, untouched by the pain of a shattered dream, it continues to dream.
Dil hai chota saa.......choti si Aasha...
Masti bhare mann ki......bholi si aasha......
Chaand taaron ko.....choone ki aasha......
Aasmaanoon main.........udaney ki aasha....
( from the movie ROJA )
Some dreams materialize into reality. Some unlucky ones get lost and loose track of their way somewhere in between the fantasy world of dreams and the practical real world. The tiny little child’s heart gets hurt by the pain of disappointment and loss. After all, the child cannot get everything his innocent heart wishes for .........
Har ek ko mukkammal jahaan nahi milta..........
Kisi ko zameen nahi milti........kisi ko aasamaan nahi milta......

But the heart does not stop dreaming. It continues, with a hope that someday, the dream will come true; and it will learn to be happy again...!!! :-) :-) after all........hope is the rope which helps humans to climb mountains............. So, don’t lose hope.......!!!
My question is- Why go through so much of hurt and pain???? Why make things so complicated?? Why dream????? And if dreams are so inseparable a part of our life, why didn’t God give us a List of DO’s and Don’ts before he gave us the authority and power to dream??? Things would have been so simple!!!! No room for hurts.... No pains.....No sufferings..... Dreaming about only that which is within our reach; and feeling happy after that dream becomes reality. Sounds neat, isin’t it???
Had life been so simple and easy, we would have never bothered to disturb God to solve our problems. In fact, we would not have had any problems. Dreaming and getting it. As simple as that!!! Insaan ko rokane wala koi nahi hota......He would become invincible.
Alas, the scene is different.......
We are not super humans. We are normal humans, with normal powers and ENDLESS number of desires. Somehow, we have got used to the vicious cycle of desires, dreams and reality- We desire, we dream, some of them come true; some don’t; we get hurt; feel sad; but without loosing HOPE ; we build a new nest of DREAM.......
A few lines from the title track of an old TV Serial explain it well.........
Seene mein hai dil ye chota saa..
Dil mein hoti choti si aashaa......
Chanda aur sitaare isme.....
Dharti ke nazaare isme....
Gehraa hai ye saagar ke jaisaa......
Bhola bhala dil hi to hai...
Kuch ye chaahta..kuch ye maangataa....
Meethe meethe khwaabon sa....
Pyaasa dil hi to hai.....
Choti si aashaa......
Choti si aashaa......
bhargavi i agree dream is evrybodys birth right.. But im now afraid to dream because my every dream gets shattered like a broken glass. Its been days that i have slept properly. The moment i sleep if i start dreaming i just open my eyes so that i stop dreaming and dont continue with dream....
ReplyDeletehmmm good set of questions to think about...Nice read.. :)
ReplyDeleteDesires are motivators! the most primitive instinct in humans in itself is in the form of a desire! the desire to survive! Tiny desires adds up spice to ones life! Desire moves the world, makes prayers worthy and life colourful! Only that it shouldnt turn into greed! :)
ReplyDeleteYou know the other perspective is..too much of anything gets boring. We dream and we desire...but if all our dreams came true....we won't feel the joy like we do now...when one of our many dreams come true.Stagnancy to ones desire would lead to boredom.....
