Abuse against girl child..

A girl child is a gift by God. But alas, not many respect this treasure. Sexual abuse of girl child is at an all time high in our society these days. People talk about women empowerment and equal rights to women, but tend to forget about the minor age group and the atrocities faced by them. Leave the outsiders aside, the culprits in most of the cases turn out to be the fathers, uncles and other menfolk from the family whom these young girls consider father figures trust them beyond limits. One recent incident which I read about in the newspaper brought forward such a horrific side  of an old man in front of me!! An old man, about 60 yrs of age, tried to abuse his grand daughter's 7 yr old friend by luring her with chocolates!!!! Heinous crime!!. Will a girl be able to trust the male fraternity after reading something like this!! What an impact would this incident have left on that little girl's mind!! The news report said that the girl was in a state of shock for hours together and could not speak. One more incident which shook me from within was about a brother abusing his own younger sister for years together!! To add to the suffering, their mother kept threatening the girl instead of smashing the son's head on the wall!! What a woman she was!! Heartless!!...A shame on womanhood!!   

The reports are endless..... but mere quoting them and cursing is not enough. There should be a way out. The mother of the child plays a very important role here. She should care for the child like a kangaroo. Any abusing comment or statement made on or in front of  the girl child should be discouraged then and there by  the parents, especially the mother. The mother should make them realize that her daughter has a protector and people should think hundred times before even thinking about harming her. Education and awareness is a must- both for the mother and the child. Teaching the daughter self defense techniques like karate etc. may sound funny to many people, but it is really the need of the hour!!! People who are found guilty in such crimes should be penalized- and the punishment should be such that it should shiver the bones of the person who even thinks of committing the same crime  again!! Hanging till death is a very easy punishment! Such monsters should not be given such an easy death. They should be made to suffer the pain and anguish which they gave the poor little innocent girl!!

The world should be a place where every human should be able to breathe and grow freely- physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically-without any apprehensions. Let us try and make this world a better and SAFER place for the female child! Otherwise, even  god will be scared to send his gift to us!! What will we do without them!!??....
